Nature's Girl
Living on gasoline and endless highways,
I've seen the sky shatter with the stubborn sun of sunset.
It's raining all around out of an overcast over-full sky,
Grey days and greyer nights on the eternity of broken lines.
And all I can think about is you.
I'm seeing you trace over old lines you've drawn before,
graphite grey and charcoal black,
trying to redraw the fading course of fate.
Green eyes seldom cry in the rain,
and your's look greener now then ever.
You are Nature's girl,
Destiny will always call you home,
And if there is life nowhere else then it is in your eyes.
You take to the sky,
When you feel like crashing down.
Sand and shore and sky and sanctuary,
Attempting to live inside an hour glass that you fear
Will pull you under like a like quick sand.
But Nature loves you girl.
Never forget the beauty in ever grain of sand,
Every now wilted flower that you once held,
The stubborn sun is still struggling through the rain,
But your green eyes are just waiting for the sun.
